Okay so I'm in a position to get one of these. Thing is which do I go for? I fancy a convertible but to be honest I'm a little disappointed by the 0-60 times of 5.1 compared to 4.6 on the coupe. I'm confused, I know the convertible is a bit heavier and not so aerodynamic but half a second slower? That seems ridiculous to me.

So has anyone owned both? One of the main reasons I am considering an M3 is so that I can get my little girl in it in a rear facing seat- I was hoping for a DB9 or 911 as she is 9months so should be moving into a forward facing seat, however the law is changing and children must stay in a rear facing seat for a lot longer- like at least another 12months because its based on weight- I can't wait that long to get something a bit nippy!

Edited to add - I can't believe there convertible is a whopping 250kg heavier than the coupe, hmmmm and that carbon roof is damn sexy....

Had an LE500 (DCT) in Santorini Blue convertible for 2 weeks while my 5 year old manual E92 coupe was getting the back bumper sorted out. Put it this way, I couldn't wait to get mine back.

Did look cool though when I had them both for a few hours smile

Your coupe looks great in Imola. It certainly looks a lot nicer than the LE500. I think this is down to alloys, I really don't think they look good in black, they look better in the flesh but they still look a bit like something from the halfrauds massif.

I need to do some research

I have drove both & own a Coupe & it's purely down to personal preference & you are either a Coupe man or a soft top man I believe & the Coupe is for driving & the Convertible is for looking good.

Why chop the roof off & add roughly 200kgs to what is arguably one of the best drivers cars made, but I do love how the convertible sounds with the roof off & that does take some beating.
