Hi all

I have had the M3 for a few weeks now. I think the car is great, no doubt it feels heavy but the soaring revs make up for that. Having had an S2000 in the past has helped me get used to using the full rev range, mantaining the car in the power band brings its own challenges and rewards.

The car is due the big third service in October/November. So far it has been serviced at BMW. What do people think about mantaining the BMW SH or is an indie SH just as good.

I had my porsche mantained at an indie so I have no doubt about the quality of an indies work. It is just the preception of the BMW stamps in the book.

The car is a late 2009 with 23k on the clock at the moment.

I live in SE london and work in Medway Kent so any recommendations of local indies would be good as well.

Thanks Neil

Being a fairly low mileage car I wouldn't entertain going to an indie as you will risk making the car very difficult to sell should you wish to move it on.

If I were in the market for an E92 M3 I wouldn't consider one that didn't have a full history. In my mind, as its the first service you've had done on the car it gives a poor message of cost saving to the next owner.

Also, the car can't ever be a BMW AUC without a full main dealer history which will affect its trade in value as well.

Hi Quavey

Yeah that's what I thought, I have been out of main dealers for the last few years and quite enjoyed using an indie.

In which case which is the best dealer in South East London/North Kent?

Personally choose a good BMW Dealer like BMW Park Lane Battersea or BMW Hexagon of Highgate (ask for Barry to work on ur car)

Being a Northern monkey I wouldn't like to say which are good dealers darn sarf... smile So I'd go with the previous posters suggestions!

I used Batemans in the northwest when I had the M3 serviced, and I'll send the M5 there when time is due I think.

Cheers

Chris

Thanks for all the suggestions, seems like I will give the dealer in Battersea a go then.
