Worth a cheeky bid?

Anyone know the story here? If it was purely stolen recovered, worth a cheeky offer, to then use as daily driver for four to five years.

Maybe but those adverts really piss me off when they attempt to almost hide the key fact that it is stolen recovered in the description.

Check out the dealer. if you judge as reputable and if HPI confirms it was only stolen/recovered and not damaged, then in your position, I would bid and get an inspection done.

I know it's a M3 and should take hard driving, but the thief/thieves will probably have driven like t***s and could have caused some underlying problem which has been missed, by whatever checks it's had.

if it passes, inspection, then considering you are not thinking of a quick (ish) re-sale, it seems a shrewd move.

Don't think you'll get a saloon for £20k yet.
As for the OP's question I'd want to see all the original keys. I believe a BM dealer can identify if a key is original.

Front panel gaps - leading edge of bonnet to grille/ front bumper look a bit squiffy to me. Could have had some accident damage along with having been stolen?

A "cheeky bid" I would take to be several thousand below the 19k asking price, therefore widening the price gap between the car and those with a cleaner history.

Yes, but given that the ad has,

"(This is cash price - for part exchange it will be £19995)" written at the bottom

I don't think a cheeky bid will buy that car, but good luck to whoever buys it if it can.

re this revving thing...... oils have such a broad operating temperature range now, and a long life, that some of the rules of old are now but myths or legends, are they not?
