E60 black grilles

When I pick up my silverstone this week I am keen to dechrome a little and replace the vents and kidneys with black alternatives. Am prefering a gloss black as opposed to matt black but am struggeling to find any suppliers other than those on fleabay. Does anyone have any recommendations, preferably UK suppliers?

You can get them form a stealer for around £85 I think.

Max, you could just paint the matte black ones with a gloss top coat to give a nice finish?

Saying that, have them wrapped?

I wouldn't be so mean to the OP. Got to remember that the great Eddie Ecain63's E61 M5 had recoloured anthracite wheels and black grilles - in fact I think Contigo's does as well and they look stunning and tasteful. Eddies car sold to a senior TV exec, so not exactly chav!

I've changed the grilles on my E61 to gloss black and everyone who's seen them agrees that they look far far better than the originals.

I dunno about a blanket label of chav, its just a trend to show individuality. I personally dont think the E60 suits the black trim but thats just MY taste. Other people have different opinions. I had black kidneys on my Biaritz Blue E39 and thought they looked great.

Do as you please OP. if the car has shadow line then go gloss. If not, then flat black. Just don't paint the originals so you can revert back when you come to sell.

My car ( admittedly not an M5) doesn't have any chrome trim on it so I matched the kidneys to the black trim.

I wouldn't call it chav at all. Pretty harsh

Some people don't want badges all over their car screaming "LOOK AT ME". I certainly don't.

Taking an E61 M5 in a dark colour, removing the badge on the tailgate, and swapping the wing grills for matt black without the badge is not cheap, and it's not chav. It makes the car blend in better, more subtle and quite understated. WIND YOUR NECK IN.

My wife drives our 535d estate, like yours. Does sir carry a couple a Staffys or pit bulls around?

Put the chrome ones back on. Especially on a black car!

If they looked good BMW would fit them.

They are the equivalent of bad teeth on a good looking girl. From a sink estate.

Has sir put M badges on it as well? :chin:
