The stitching on my driver's side seat side bolster has come apart. Does anyone know if this could be a warranty item with BMW (I have a warranty but am sceptical). Also does anyone have any bright ideas about repairing it (when they say the warranty doesn't apply, without replacing the whole thing?

All suggestions welcome as this, as they say, could be an expensive one and the drivers seat is a really important part of resale.

I can't see how a car that must be at least 6 years old, would have seat material covered by a warranty. I suspect your best route would be a local car upholsterer who would be able to repair.

Thanks Krisdelta do you have any suggestions or know of an upholsterer?

Bearing in mind a full set of e46 M3 interior including all door cards and trim etc only tends to cost £300-600 at a push, would it not be far cheaper to just buy a new drivers seat?

A decent repair should only cost £150. A used interior from ebay is likely to have a worn drivers seat so you might be better off with a repair.

Thanks to everyone for their replies.

Solidlad84, is that a dealer price?

Nope, sorry, I was just referring to the prices i've seen good condition second hand sets be advertised for on M3cutters and other sites. I guess it depends how worn the rest of the seat is if its worth doing a repair or not.

I would be inclined to agree with this approach as being the best all round solution.
