Folks, been quoted 270 inc VAT for an oil change for my E60 M5 from main dealer (have Mondial warranty) and they won't let me bring my own oil.

Just interested in how this compares with other's experience?

Regards
Fred

Went to our main dealer at the weekend for oil change which I'm supplying (castol edge 10/60 specified for "M cars")and charge will be for filter and labour only. Some dealers are not cutomer friendly I guess !

I supplied my own (well 4 litres) of towards last service and the oil change was about 120. I cannot believe that they will not let you supply the oil, it's ridiculous.

My dad has supplied oil on his services on E92 M3 before no problem. Not very good of your dealer imo!

My local dealer also won't let me supply oil, I was quoted £320 IIRC for when my old E60 M5 needed a change

Fred,

I supplied 9 litres of 10W60 to my local dealer. Bought from ECP for £70 in one of their sales. The stamp in the book cost an additional £103, so £173 all in. The cost of oil from BMW, or any main dealer is a p1ss take.

could you not just change the oil yourself? I just ordered oil for my E34 M5 from www.opieoils.co.uk (my supplier of choice at the moment) and its cosing me £50 for 7 litres of higher quality oil and a filter. I could have gone for cheaper stuff that was still Fuchs for £34 inc a filter but wanted the free postage plus some high grade oil.

Hi
I have 9 litres of Castrol Edge 10-60 FST in sealed containers which I bought this year for my own E60 M5. I sold the car in Aug and wont be needing it for the X5 diesel that replaced it.
£50 to clear it. Have a look on maindealerdiscount.com if your local BMW dealer is signed up with them then there are some good discounts on service work. I had brakes and oil changes done through this site and saved quit a bit.

My garage lets me supply own oil.

From March this year
