E36 M3 suspension
Discussion
Hi guys.
I have an E36 M3 and I'm planning to update the suspension.
I'm planning to use the car for a bit of fast road driving and six or so track days per year.
I have an offer of some B12 Bilsteins at a very reasonable price. Are these suitable for a bit of track work or are they too soft? If so, I was going to go with BC coil-overs, which are well over double the price of the Billies!
Cheers,
Matt

It think the billy/eibach kit, which is what I think the b12 is? Ive run that & is a bit soft, prices same as cheaper coilies like BC etc when I've looked into it.
The BC stuff not bad for cheapo gear, I've had it on 2x e36s road & track all rounders, HSDs also well rated & similar cheapness. Both are available with harder spring rates, which is a good idea.
Suspension on e36s has been discussed a fair bit on here, not sure is the search function is still goosed? I've used most of the cheaper coilie set ups, pss9, pss, H&R coilies, Eibach pro, eibach springs & billy shocks & been in cars with KW V1 & v3, Spax, Weitec, pss9 clubsports, Gaz race, Intrax, right up to cars with race Nitron set ups to Shirmer spec worth more than an entire decnet e36 M3

Thanks. I've read up on the various set ups. It's just that a B12 set up has come up very cheap as lightly used and as I'm still a track day novice I'm wondering if this will be good enough. It seems I may also need to buy decent top mounts which ramps up the cost so may just go straight for coilovers. The BC stuff not bad for cheapo gear, I've had it on 2x e36s road & track all rounders, HSDs also well rated & similar cheapness. I'm after a B12 kit, please PM me details if you don't end up buying it!
For what it's worth it's highly rated as a road kit but probably a bit soft for track only, I'd be tempted by the PSS9 kit...
It's in the states. I'm in Dubai, so makes no difference to me - http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.ph...For what it's worth it's highly rated as a road kit but probably a bit soft for track only, I'd be tempted by the PSS9 kit...
There may also be a set on ebay.
I'm just going to go coilovers because by the time I add in Evo top mounts and rear strengthened top mounts there not much in it.
