Daily user conundrum
Discussion
Does anyone else face the same conundrum as me. Own a completely standard 2006 m3. Try to keep it in as best condition as possible BUT use it every day including parking it on streets.
A consequence of this is coming back to find little marks and scratches. Absolutely hate this but love using the car everyday.
Perhaps I should just chill out a little bit, accept that marks will appear from time to time and just enjoy the car?
Please tell me this is the way to go!
Thanks.

I have this OCD too. E39 M5 treated like a bloody baby! I even ask myself if its worth going through a cold start when taking the thing shopping, and end up walking instead!
Absolutely nothing to do with fuel costs.
I mean what type of idiot, walks two miles rather than asking his car to wake up? Probably doing more harm than good but I cant help it.
And don't mention parking it as far away as possible from any other car in a car park if I do take her anywhere, drives the other half crazy. And again probably costs me more in replacement shoes for her due to the additional walking involved.
Its not about the costs or even potential costs, I can comfortably afford to have any damage repaired, its about, dare I say it, LOVE. Someone opening their door in to the side of her would cause the same level of anger in me as a complete stranger walking past and kicking my Labrador in the nuts.
Group counselling offer?

Can't stand it, so I do all my mundaine runs in a KA. Love it, can leave it in any car park without worry, and can drive it through rain, snow, grit, brick walls without caring.
My friend has one now too and we've started just crashing into each other for lols. Excellent fun.
Downpoints? I look like a tit driving it, and it means the M sometimes doesn't get used all weeks as I do limited miles already.
But it means I don't have to "wake the car up" for a 2 mile drive to the gym

I'm so glad this isn't just me. It's a terrible OCD though, which makes parking such a chore.Absolutely nothing to do with fuel costs.

I have put 16K on my M3 since it was delivered in March. Its picked up a few scratches but thats the way it goes. Get them fixed and detail it occasionally. Its mint inside and still drives the same and thats what gives me the enjoyment.
I have booked mine in for a winter detail to help protect it against grime but its minor protection in the grand scheme of things. The great thing about the M3 is that you can use them reliably for lots of miles if you wish. If I wanted a garage queen I would have bought something for more pretty to sit and look at. Probably something Italian.
