I can see this being a popular vehicle but considering a 12 month old M5 with less than 5000 miles will be less than the rrp of an M4 its only going to go one way fast. Wait a few months and discounts will be available. Wait a year and they will probably start throwing big lease deals to shift them.
I have a deposit down on an M3. I have the first build slot at my dealer and have been told to expect June delivery. I have recently read some people online say UK delivery may be as late August.
Given the great lease deals on M5s and that there will be no discount on the new M3 I think it may be cheaper to get an M5 than a first year M3.

I've put £1000 down for first build slot at dealer, got them to put this in writing and it's also fully refundable up till I sign on the dotted line...
in two minds at the moment, was intending to keep it for a year or two but may just enjoy it for a few months and sell it. £60k is a lot for a souped up 4 series with 425 bhp. I think they'll hold their value for 3-6 months then start depreciating more quickly then, but I don't think you can compare to the E92 as the bulk of deliveries started in 2008 just as the used car market crashed and the values nosedived. Also been told first deliveries will realistically be July/August.

I don't even think the new GT3 will hold its residuals. Look at all high performance vehicles and the deals now thrown at them to shift stock. Amg e class and m5 for between 500 and £600pm! You can walk into a porsche dealer and get a new 991 turbo s - And the rumours are discounts are available on them. in two minds at the moment, was intending to keep it for a year or two but may just enjoy it for a few months and sell it. £60k is a lot for a souped up 4 series with 425 bhp. It's not that I don't think the M4 will be good , but why would anyone think of paying list for an M4 when they are giving away the M5 which is the more prestigious vehicle from their range?

Anyone given an 'intention to buy' deposit to a dealer yet?
If yes, what have you been told for possible delivery?
I've been given an expected delivery of July / August for mine from the dealer last month, they have very little info at the moment, internet tells you more than them, had an interesting chat with mine this week, he was surprised at how much I'd found out If yes, what have you been told for possible delivery?

Wonder if Jag always intended the F Type coupe to be listed £7k below the roadster, or if that is a reflection on the market place. It has put a V6S on the short list for the replacement for my E92 M3.
I very much doubt it...If F type sales (& residuals) stayed strong there is no way it would have been that much cheaper...
Gotta agree, a V6S coupe looks great value alongside a Cayman S...
No way should you pay list for the new M4, I'll be waiting until dec next year there will be a few demos knocking around and deals to be done.
But I'm still not convinced about the power and weight reduction giving it as massive step up in outright performance over the e92, the extra torque will help delivery of that power but I'll have to drive one + the new C63 will also be out and its interior is streets ahead of the f30 gen cars and so will the power.
