Always quite fancied a 1M since i drove one in 2011 when they were launched, but thought i'd hold on 6-12 months for values to drop. That never happened! Anyway, rewind 2 weeks ago - sat in front of the computer, scanning the dealer ads (as you do, when you're supposed to be working..), and what should pop up before my eyes on the BMW AUC locator - a 5k mile Valencia example advertised as 'coming in soon' at John Clark BMW. So, made an immediate call, had a little deal, left a deposit, and here it is - delivered at 10pm Monday night. Only managed to have a short drive in it so far, weather and road surfaces cold and all that, but first impressions.... She's a little Feisty one!!

Pictures generally don't do these thinks justice, it's only when you see them in the flesh that they stand out form the crowd. Although the pic above catches how wide these things are over the normal 1 series, just look at the rear arch !

Nice colour also.

Awesome!
Saw one in this colour at a local show and my jaw fell off.
Sadly we need a hatch or estate boot as we have a dog.

Enjoy!

Cheers guys.

Weather nice and temperatures up so just been out for another squirt - it's actually quite fast lol! The torque makes for v.quick and responsive pace - i'm used to n/a engines (CSL, GT3 etc) - having to use the gears to their max. This you just feel the power whatever gear, rpm you are in. It makes a nice change tbh. I'm not usually a fan of BMW's manual boxes, the throw always seems quite long, but the box in the 1M is superb - very precise and smooth. It's crying out for a better, throatier zorst though!

Comfort Access is a very welcome option - would deffo spec/look for this from now on.

I didn't realise the audio system stores CD's - nice. How many albums can this store roughly does anyone know?

I thought it had that annoying stop/start technology, so it was a nice surprise to know the 1M doesn't have it. One less button to press on start up smile

So far, very happy.

Zyp - my Sprinter is the quickest, dirtiest thing on the road mate. Never mess with a dirty Sprinter hehe

Love it! I'd be tempted by one of these as a daily steer.

I presume you had / have a CSL based on one of the comments... While two very different cars, can you do a comparison?

Cheers again for the comments smile

Hard to really compare to the CSL - both very different cars. For everyday - the 1M - much more refined and easy to drive. For a special weekend drive - the CSL.

Similar to my route into 1M..... Drove one at launch, decided not to..... Then kept looking at classifieds at end of last year and nabbed a 2k 10 month old model. One year on I don't regret it at all. Those for sale currently at dealers all cost more than I paid, despite a year having past and their mileages being much higher..... I've told myself and the wife that it's a long term keeper...... Great car.... Enjoy!

+1 !!! smile

Very envious! They look fantastic. Those CSL wheels are just lovely.

I love the look and idea of the 1M, proper little animal of a car.

Only thing that put me off slightly is I sat in one at Goodwood and the seating position was quite high almost felt you were sat on top of it a little. Is this a fair observation compared with the CSL? I may have just not adjusted the seat properly so I might be talking absolute rubbish! smile
