Front blow out + wet road = dead M3

Only had it 3 months!! So I'm looking for something new. Thank goodness for protected no claims and gap insurance!

SWMBO now insists on an estate, so looking at large engined tourers, preferably a 3 series, so unless an irresistible M5 tourer comes up I'll be leaving this part of the forum for good.

M3 is still best I've ever owned in terms of mixture of comfort and fun. And I can now attest they crash very well, as both my passenger and I got out without even a bruise or a scratch!

So long all.

Gutted for you buddy, I really am.

I've just purchased an M6 V10, I'm too scared to take it out because it is silly fast and the rear wheels light up like a catherine wheel if you get even slightly silly.

Good thing I got the GAP insurance too, if this sh*tty weather persists I may need it!

Was the DSC turned off? OR was it in standard SAFE settings?

Obviously you've got a lot more power to play with but if its anything like my M3 the wet was my favorite time to drive! Yes it does move around a bit and RWD demands respect in the wet but the chassis is so sorted its just so much fun to play around especially out of junctions etc obviously when there's no one around.

Cant help a blow out though doesn't really matter what your in I don't suppose frown

Just get another M3 and tell SWMBO the insurance company replaced 'like-for-like'. wink

Not far from the money. Would prefer an AUC again, and big petrol E91's seem rare - why is everyone so obsessed with diseasal?!

I pick up an E91 330i on Sunday, but I had to relent on some spec due to there being so few around. Any good ones that do come up seem to get snapped up very quickly.

Indeed, only 3 within the network:

http://www.approved.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/results...

Would it be possible to register any interest with your local garage on the off-chance there is some centralised stock?

your best bet is working through someone like Gareth @ bespoke auto. ( http://www.bespoke-auto.co.uk )

I've used him for my last 2 cars, his dealer network contacts take all the hassle away from finding the right car... and mean you hear of cars way before they are officially available.

feel free to say I (andrew mulholland) recommended you if you contact him

thanks

Not Mpower but an fast tourer none the less.

E61 550i touring.

Can be had with a 6speed auto or an uber rare 6speed manual which puts it into E39 M5 performance territory.

They are lovely cars and any I have seen have always had very high spec.

Think I've found a 328i (he current twin turbo 4 pot) with just about the perfect spec. Will update and move over to the general forum. I will be back in an M one day.

I've just got to get the dealer to remove the //M badges from the wings. Sacrilegious!

Just waiting to collect my F31 328i Touring M-Sport. Already missing the noise, power and sheer fun of the M3. I'll be in the other BMW forum a lot more now!

This is taken from Honest John's website:
http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/bmw/3-series-...

"Station wagon based on the best car currently in existence. Every single fault of the E90/E91 has been addressed in the F30/F31. Nothing else gets as close to perfection, including £200,000 supercars."

That should make you happy cool

50 miles in, and seems great. More comfortable, more spacious, and rides better (even with 19" RFTs)!
