Your favourite "M car" moment.
Discussion
My journey into BMW M car ownership has been very up and down as well as very brief. However, when it works properly it is an absolutely mental machine.
Favourite M car moment so far of mine is:
Boxing Day, 2013.
Me, brother in law and best friend going to Sheffield via the back roads of the A629.
Quite a bit of traffic and not really straight enough - thus far - to see what she can do. We cross the brow of the hill, the next miles are perfect "M car" territory.
7th gear, blip, blip, blip, blip down to 3rd gear, I floor it, and we're doing 110mph just like that! We look at each other and start laughing and shouting "That is crazzzzzyyyy". Then I realised I haven't even pressed the M button. Ooooh yes, car feels alot firmer and sharper and more chuckable. We floor it through the bends, doing *ahem* mph and enjoying the V10 bellow. None of us can believe the grip.
I turn around to my friend and ask him what he says "stupidly fast"...same question to my brother in law he says "I was hanging on man, my butthole was like a decimal point at one stage"

Mine would have to be the weekend I picked it up.
Flew back from Zurich where I was currently working. This was an event in itself, a few shandies the previous night meant I missed my flight by 3 hours and had to pay through the nose to get on the next available!
Well worth it though as the next morning bright and early with only a couple of miles under the belt, I drove it back to Switzerland. I'm not sure the smile left my face for the entire 750 mile drive

Can't afford an M car but I've always loved the M3 and everything it stands for. My best moment was when a guy I was working for bought a brand new E36 M3. The first time we went out I'd never felt acceleration like it. It was like that feeling you get in your stomach when you go over a hump-backed bridge, but for longer as it was through at least the first two gears. Then there was the way it wheelspun when he snatched second and then third. Loved that car.

Took my friend along for a 5 min test drive and now he's looking for one
Every single person I have taken out in mine has been spotted very shortly after browsing classifieds and desperately doing man-maths.
The supercharged one usually creates silence, then gasps, then giggles.
Mine is largely juvenile - finding an empty tunnel and administering 2nd/3rd gear beans with the windows down. Never fails to make me giggle.
Also once picked up a friend for a squash match - he didn't know anything about cars so thought nothing of the car. We were trundling along having a conversation and I gave it some welly - he stopped mid-word, frozen solid having instantaneously flung his limbs out and braced himself in the cabin like a cat deploying the terror-stance.
When he regained his composure he said to me "don't ever f#@king do that again" - so I found someone else to play squash with.

Dont think I've had one..
Getting a bit bored of my M5 tbh.
Find somewhere quiet with an open well sighted corner and a double width road, preferably when it is damp and slippery, switch all the systems off and see how well balanced it is. You will then find it hard not to enjoy it a bit more when the next opportunity arises. Getting a bit bored of my M5 tbh.

PS I should add I am jealous of all the posters above with tales/pictures of the 'ring, sideways action and track days - I will do this at some point (that's what I keep telling myself anyway). Every M car should be put on a track and spanked at least once!
What like this you mean?
Spa :

Nurburgring :

Or would you prefer the Alps instead?
Col d'Izoard :

On top of the Stelvio Pass :

Or on a week long trip down to Mont Ventoux and the surrounding area's :

Living life on the edge - actually on the edge !
:

The gang of us that went there :

I have LOADS more photo's of the Tardis (as it's affectionately become known amongst friends) but i've probably bored you all more than enough already.
