Time to go Indy?
Discussion
When do you switch from dealer servicing to Indy?
My E92 m3 is a 2008 model, now with 74k on clock and currently it has a full bm service history. Next week it's going to a dealer for full oil service (inc spark plugs etc etc) and some wear and tear on suspension to be sorted all in £1,330 (agreed after some haggling and phoning round other dealers)
I'm painfully aware an Indy would do all this for prob half price, however, bmw (at least) still value my car at £18k (well against M4 anyway) which to me is still a lot of money.
I really have no idea how much longer I'll keep this car. I still love it and can't think of anything that could replace it without spending a kings ransom.
So my questions.... When has anyone else switched to Indy servicing? Has it affected your car's value? And any indy's you would recommend in Cambridge area?
Cheers

I would remain with the main dealer for general servicing, to maintain your service history and keep your service book stamped up to date.. This maintains the warranty if the car still has one but also allows the next owner to buy a BMW insured warranty fi they wish. It just makes the car easier to sell in the long run.
For other maintenance, repair, replacement work, I personally would see no reason why you wouldnt use an Indy as long as they use OEM parts. Make sure to keep parts invoices as all OEM parts come with a 2 year warranty as well.

OP did a BMW Dealer value your M3 @£18k trade in or £18k private or what :-) ?
Trade in, however, based on finance deal against M4 or indeed m6. Presumably they have room to play with numbers on these when finance is involved. I imagine if buying either with cash or something else it might be less.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
