Just bought an e39 m5. Went to fit the removable towbar today but couldn't get it to latch in. Tried greasing the ball bearings but still no good. Don't think it has been used for a couple of years. Any ideas as to how I get it to work?
If you have a good look at the gooseneck you should be able to figure out the release mech that makes it lock into place - can you trigger it with a screwdriver and release it a few times to ensure it works smoothly? And perhaps clean the receptacle on the tow bar with a wire brush?
