Any M owners out there considering the new i8 as an alternative....understand that the purchase price is a slight hike up, but does anyone think there will be any deals and incentives available after the initial lauch mayhem has calmed down.......or infact will the car be a success.

cheers stv

I seem to remember hearing that there was at least a 2 year waiting list, so it's unlikely there will be discounts for a while.

I did consider it before buying my M, but the wait was too long and there were just a few too many compromises for me considering the wait. Most of my journeys are long distance and the fuel consumption is estimated at about 35 mpg, not bad, but not great either and the boot space is tiny. If it had been available for 2-4 month delivery in August when I was looking and about 3/4 the price, I might just have been tempted - mainly because it looks so bloody good!

It certainly looks good to my eyes but a bit pricey. If the technology spreads to other cars in the range over the next few years then there could be some interesting cars on the way.

The new price is prohibitive but seems like the ideal daily drive supercar for my needs. What's depreciation like on used hybrid supercars....?
