BMW E46 M3 CS :-)
How do people view the prices of these models. Will they command a premium over regular M3 models or will this increase/decrease in the future. I noticed Hexagon have a couple for sale. I think around 233 came officially to UK in both gearboxes

I think those prices are absurd. These cars are nothing more than a run out model. The CSL is a completely different proposition and will continue to appreciate but the CS is light years away from it and not a future classic. I believe a CS should command a 25% premium over a standard M3 with equivalent mileage and age. Nice cars mind.

All in my opinion of course.

They do have a couple of bits from the CSL though don't they - in particular I seem to recall the steering rack or something steering related? But yes, still largely a run out model.

Dismissing the CS as "nothing more than a run out model" is a bit unfair. The quicker rack and the M-track DSC setting were both very welcome additions over the "ordinary" M3. Whether the uprated brakes, alcantara trim and nice wheels were worth the extra or not is personal preference, but they did help set the CS apart. In my view, the CS quite justifiably enjoys a price premium over the standard car and will continue to do so.

Nevertheless - and, of course, unsurprisingly - those Hexagon prices are mad. I can see the arguments for a nice low mileage CS being high-teens, but high-twenties is bonkers.

I appreciate a CS is worth more than a similar spec normal M3, but those prices are taking the piss

Hmm...Hexagon. Before I clicked on the links, I was thinking of a silly figure like 23k or something.

Unreal!

Buy a manual M3 for 6 grand and less and spend a few pennies on upgrades and improvements and still for far less than a CS would cost you.

CSL rack is well worth fitting.

Mental, but then the car market has gone a bit mental recently, there is a 997.1 GT3RS up for 189k on PH at the moment and one up for 100k so that's a bit of a spread.

As for the CS, revised steering and nice wheels isn't worth a 15-20k premium but the market will decide.

Hi Mate, symptoms all point to rear left speed sensor, you should get a warning code 145 rear left speed sensor on the INPA warning system

Not withstanding, an excellent car. Find me a manual one please with less than 30k miles.

I considered one a few years ago, but opted for a Carrera. £49,000 is an absolutely incredible amount of money even for a CSL. I suppose these profiteers seek to create an aura of the 'classic' simply by selling at ridiculously high prices and if people aren't careful - i.e. someone pays this - it becomes self-fulfilling.
