A bit of a longshot I appreciate, but...

Has anyone had any experience of these cars in any way?

I've found a car (in SA) and am sorely tempted. If it was in the UK (or EU even) I'd probably already own it but due to location and my own trust 'issues' I've not bought it.

Obviously they're lacking the sort of firepower that the modern (and even middle aged) M cars can offer but I've always been a bit of a weird car fan.

Me and my wallet need it like a hole in the nutsack but they just don't really come up. They made 208 I think and people guess fewer than 30 survive. A few knock offs too which makes it hard as they don't have a special VIN as the Motorsport blokes just took 528s off the production line and got busy.

No experience of one but what I can tell you is that all this deliberating is not getting it bought...

I've got family in SA so you'll be needing their address for somewhere to stay, I'll email them tonight and let them know you'll be coming..

I saw a company in the back of a magazine yesterday that does shipping from SA so I'll dig their number out too..

Have got a bloke going to see it today. Just not sure whether I trust the bloke or not.

A trip out kind of kills the deal. That plus shipping etc would add around 3-4k.

Tricky one... Is there anyone 'we' can contact to vouch for the car...or the bloke? There's got to be some forum noise for such a rare car?

If it helps any, I transferred a huge some of money to a bloke I'd never met for a 993 Turbo I'd never seen, in fact it was in Italy and I wasn't. I'm not saying I wasn't nervous waiting for it to show up mind you....very liberating

I'm still 50/50 so not going to waste anyones time just yet. Car isn't for sale really but I've been given a price to own it.
