Prospective M2 Owners Thread

Hi everyone

I am interested in the forthcoming BMW M2 and I thought I would start a thread for like-minded potential owners.

First of all, my local dealer has asked for a £2k deposit, is this about right? They have pencilled in a delivery date of around November 2015 with an order to be taken around Feb/March time.
Can any one confirm if that correlates with what they have heard?

Though I suspect maybe because I am the first to place a deposit they couldn't hold out for £2k?!

Not sure if I'll take delivery as I'm not sure it'll be as good a car as a discounted m4 on pcp this time next year. That said the m4 is just too big for me even coming from a C63 coupe.

I'm thinking about ordering one but it will depend on how close they pitch it to the M4. It won't be limited edition this time either which was a big selling point for me when I ordered a 1M.
As for a deposit, I've never been asked for more than £1000 when ordering a car, most are happy to accept £500.

I am having a chat with Spire Watford this week - I would be happy to wait until Spring 2016 when my GTR will be 6.5 years old so maybe time for something different as a weekend/track toy.

Could be a proper giggle on track that car. I'm certainly keeping my eyes on these for a couple of years time

I would give that dealer a wide berth as it's widely known that the M2 should go into production around October 2015 with the first cars arriving in spring 2016.

I have my name down for one (£1k refundable / transferable to M4 CSL if it happens). Been reading one of the US biased BMW forums and it seems per previous poster that it's Nov '15 production and back end of Q1 '16 delivery for UK cars.

1 year on...... Just put £500 down and I'm on the list, waiting on more details, hopefully order in the new year and get the car by next summer !!
