Hi guys.

What are you paying for insurance for your M3, and do you mind if I ask how old you are and how much NCD you have ?

I've just sold a classic Impreza which I paid £600 for the years insurance, when I asked my insurer what I can expect to pay additional for the M3, they say about £250 !

I went on the comparison sites and got 2 or 3 well known insurers quote me at around £550, 28 years old, 6 years NCD, no accidents, does that sound about right ?

That's pretty good actually.

I'm 45 with full no claims, in a fairly low risk area, no commuting use. Mine comes in at about £350/400 a year now, fully comp. of course.

I have to agree, that sounds ok.

I'm 41, low risk area, full NCB, fully comp and protected, averages 350 to 400 on a CSL.

Not entirely comparable but I am 25 paying £425 a year, 5 years NCB, no points/claims, for a Z4 M.

When window shopping for cars I have found M3s to be one of the most expensive to insure (certainly more than a 911, etc..) - I imagine because they are very popular as a first cheap/fast car and many of them have met their end at roundabouts or in hedges at the hands of young men

Good to hear.

I'm disappointed with my current insurer, no names but there's a chap they named it after called Keith, I shall be cancelling with them and getting the quote from ANother for £550.

34, 10 years NCB, clean license. I think it's £500ish, which now sounds expensive compared to some of the above.

55, 2 years NCB from being a named driver on my wifes policy (I have full NCB on my other car), fully comp 12,000 miles, couldn't believe it when they asked for £206 three weeks ago.

Looking for one at the moment, quoted £400 Hastings Direct Full Policy not "essentials" zero voluntary excess £150 compulsory. 32, 9 yrs NCB parked on street and commuting. Which I thought was pretty good. The missus had to claim after a non fault and they handled it well so I'd go with them.

Annoying thing is my old postcode area would be around £100/year cheaper.

Thats the the thing, postcode plays a big part in what you pay, as does annual milleage to some degree as well as where it is stored at night, excess payments, hire car, legal cover blah blah blah all effect it slightly.

So comparison or prices only can be a little misleading unless every factor is the same. Also depends if you shop around every single year as every insurance ive ever used tends to creep there renewal prices up every year only to be happy to lower the price again if you call them. Cheeky buggers

Thought that's as pretty good because the last time I looked at around 23 was about £1750!
