I've just paid the following to a Sytner Main dealer

£590 for Rear pads and Discs Supplied and Fitted
£945 for Front Pads and Discs supplied and Fitted

&

£370 spark plugs service

Have I got a good deal on the brakes?

Not really, I've just priced up my fronts as they'll need replacing soon, I can get the OE parts from Eurocarparts for just under £440, then an hours labour @ £120ish. I did the rears six months ago, all parts were just under £400 IIRC.

Spark plugs are around £12 each, so £120 in parts, can't remember what the labour is on this though, surely no more than an hour?

Can you not fit these yourself?

Sounds about right for a main dealer. You may have been fleeced a couple of hundred compared to buying OEM parts and fitting them at an indy but that's the cost of a BMW stamp.

Did the spark plug service include an oil change too? If so, that's ok pricewise.

No it didn't include a oil change.

An no I can't do it myself.

It is what it is now.. Also two of the coil packs were ceased so had to have them changed too..

Sounds about right for dealer prices, I just paid £764 for engine oil change, SMG gearbox oil change & diff oil change at BMW. Engine oil change on the V10 at BMW is about £290 on its own , it holds just under 10 litres of oil which they know how to charge for. Spark plug change at BMW prices sounds about right on the V10.

How do I know if my SMG oil and Diff oil need changing?

It's recommended for every third oil change, i.e. when the plugs are due

If you did not need the warranty preserving I could have gotten these for around £850 for you all around.

Lol so ideally I should have it done now seeing as the spark plugs have just been done. Should I just get a Indy to do it? My local Indy isn't cheap in fact my local dealer quoted me better prices than he did. Can any mechanic do a SMG oil and Diff Oil change (I can't do it)? It's had the oil service done recently but I think that's just engine oil as it was done by the previous owner from a Indy.

Also the oils I will obviously supply my self from BMW.
