Hi guys anybody have this annoying problem of squeeking front brakes under 20mph
M5 2012
After 1 month of many phone calls and different departments main dealer finally agrees to fit new front discs and pads.
Drove the car out of the dealership wow no squeaks !!!!!!!!!!
40 miles later the squeaks are back.

If your into DIY then take the pads out, coat the backs in coppers lip and reinsert. Dealers will just throw new pads in as if it was on a production line!

Yeah originally they did that before changing the discs and pads but still had the squeaks.
I really feel there is a faulty component in the pads that is causing the noise.
But BMW refuse to accept there is a problem.
Went back to main dealer they said we can keep changing discs and pads they will still probably squeak.
Very frustrating!!!!!!!!

Apply plenty of copper grease or Pagid's own equivalent. BMW M brakes are not the best.

Mine are doing the same (brand new MY2015 F10)... it wouldn't have occurred to me that this would warrant replacement disks and pads though - seeing as I spend very little time driving around town I'm inclined to just put up with it. Is it actually indicative of a problem? If the solution is really just to apply some copper slip I'd have thought the dealer would do just that!

I know this won't help much but my MY15 F10 M5 brakes have never squeaked during their 13k miles which includes several track days.

This so called "Brake squeal" has been posted to death here; http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1077...

I have never ever had this on any "M" car, the last two being LCI M5 and now M6 GC CP.
Never had it .
I jet wash pads and callipers every car wash.

Same thing happened constantly on my 2013 M6 (f12) so I imagine the same brakes.

I went many times to service centre, was never resolved.

Only thing that did it was a bedding in run, went onto a dual carriageway at night and did the bedding in process (there is a guide online) that kept them squeak free for about 6 months. Then I had to do it again as the squeak came back, I had already got sick of the car though so sold it with the squeaking breaks.

Copperslip should not be used on on brakes. I know lots of people use it without problems. The correct grease for BMWs is Plastilube, same thing as Ceratec, available from Pagid or Mintex and other sources.

I think this was the procedure I used FYI:

Totally solved the issue for a good 6 months.
