F80 M3 bumper/options question
Discussion
Sorry if this has been covered, but I've not returned to the M scene since my E46 M3 (which I didn't get on with). What option do you have to tick to get the front bumper with the black insert at the bottom and skirt?
Also, the car seems well equipped with extras, leaving only these on my list (Black wheels, Black Extended Merino Leather, Carbon Fibre interior trim w/ Black Chrome finishers, Head-up Display, Loudspeaker system - harman/kardon surround sound, Sun protection glass). Any other extras most suggest are must haves?
All this depends of course on enjoying a test drive and if I have to order new versus picking up a second hand buy.

Are you talking about the M Performance front splitter?? Which comes with two carbon pieces and a black lip round the bottom??mdianuk said:

That car sounds almost identical to our (manual) LCI M3... ours also has adaptive headlights (which are very good) and a couple of smaller options, but it's a lovely car to drive and a very nice place to be.

Thanks for the reply, this is the bumper I mean if it helps answer?

Is it this part? Anyone know the price and cost of fitting? http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/accessories/acces...
Also, was there a facelift this year on the M3? If so, what changes were made?

Yep, that's the M Performance front lip.. two carbon pieces which are fitted over the side 'ducts' and the black lip itself which attaches to the bottom of them/the bumper. IIRC, you could get it through a Cotswold BMW contact on the M3 Cutters forum for iro £1k.

The LCI M3 was launched in September, very subtle changes over the pre-LCI model. Here are a couple of links to give you a better idea of the differences...

Thanks for that, what I can't work out is why the two pieces that stick on are carbon, but the bottom trim isn't available in carbon, possibly because of likely impact damage?!?! Didn't realise it was such a hefty increase in price considering there are a few in the dealer network with these parts; one of which I'm hoping to go view tomorrow, but at £50k, it seems from a previous thread on here that dealer discounts new could mean I'd get the exact spec I want for the same price.

If you don't get it thrown in, there are loads of nice splitters available in carbon. I have the M performance plastic one..and a few friends giggled when they saw it. Looks a bit basic, especially in contrast with the CF rear diffuser. Vorsteiner and Status Gruppe do some nice ones. Projex UK (Bristol) do a vorsteiner replica for about £700 which is good value.
