Standard BMW's are restricted to 250kph (156mph) but M cars are restricted to 260kph (162.5mph)

That's exactly the experience I've had.

No recollection Kumaran - I was using a Garmin Sat Nav that records your max speed. That was in an E39 M5 that was totally standard.

Not an F10 but in my F13M I've seen 172mph on the speedo and still pulling before I lifted. GPS said max 169mph.
But I'm not the 1st owner of my car so now I wonder if it's not entirely standard.

Quite right, it's not exactly the same because it was an E60 M5, but the principle is that all M cars are limited to the same top speed so it was completely relevant.
Unlike your post biglaugh

Don't remember reading 'M cars, what's the top speed of any of them'

It was......

F10 M5 Maximum speed (standard)

And you posted the picture of your E60 because you felt the need to be billy big balls I assume?

hehe

Still a good picture mind wink

I posted the pic because someone had asked what the speedo read. But yes, I missed the F10 in the thread title when I posted the picture.
