Hi again.

Following a nice Imola red Z4MR purchase, I think I've got the hots for an E90 Coupe too.

Again, if you could please give me some opinions of the following questions then I'd be really grateful smile

- Ive seen a 2007 coupe. Its got 58k miles, FBMW SH, Manual, EDC, Pro Nav, black leather and in Silverstone blue. It's owned by a customer of mine and he's looking to sell and replace it will something Estatey.

Being a 2007 it's an early one. I know BMW like to do an LCI around three years after launch. With the 'early car' status what would you think on value/It's worth?

Is the above spec 'desirable' when it comes to resale time?

Is the manual gearbox the same as the e46 M3 in terms of desirability? I prefer a manual box, but it seems the DCT option is more popular in the car adverts

On price we are talking around £17500...how does this sound?

Many thanks once again.

I cant help price the car but I think EDC, DCT and the 19" wheels are the most desirable options that will help future resale.

Btw, the coupe is known as an E92 technically wink

I reckon make it £20-25k and you'll get a better car IMO.

I debate getting an E90 M3 but the MPG puts me off. Yes, I know it's an M car, but when my E46 will do 30MPG on a motorway it's not too bad on the wallet really compared to other 'normal' cars, and IMO alot of diesels these days seem to be potential money pits unless buying nearly new, but then you have massive depreciation ahead of you...

I found with E46 (I have a manual) a hate for SMG made manuals more sought after. DCT is well liked so I don't think manuals are quite as desirable other than by those who really want manual and thus desire increases because they are rarer. And more so from (I think late) 2008 when DCT arrived.
Price seems good, based on a quick benchmark here and assuming good condition.
full BMW SH is key, but make sure it's thorough. I looked at lots of these with lots of BMW stamps. but there were either still missing stamps or the service items hadn't been done; for example the car had gone too long between oil changes.
Need to have the Running in Service done by 1200 miles, that's key.
I'm pretty sure Pro Nav is standard. There's a lot of debate about EDC and enough people seem to want it, so if you are thinking future sale value then it's a plus. I'm not super convinced as I've driven with the default settings and suspension is great. But that's a different point.

I'm not sure the LCI was that a big deal, as the I drive was improved in 2009 before the LCI ; the new I drive is much better. as for looks, it's debatable as to which tail lights you prefer. Not sure what else. I'd say the Competition pack was a more exciting upgrade, the stunning wheels, lower by a little and improve EDC.
Silverstone is a nice colour, probably goes best with black. I think though it's more important you like it than whoever buys it on from you.

If you can dig up a bit more cash there is this rather lovely car:

Thanks for the replies and opinions.

I picked her up today and it's a minter.

The chap I bought it from acquired it as an AUC a couple of years ago (5k miles) and as part of their prep they put new rubber at the rears, new front discs and pads and new rear discs and pads too! I know AUC route is expensive but they certainly don't hold back do they!

It's also got a nice bonus - the CP alloys have been retrofitted and they are genuine wheels too (according to BMW - I'l whip one off to check the stamping). The chap had them refurbished in a non standard colour though, so that's on the NY job list - prob go for the Satin black as it would look nice against the SS2 paint says I.

ETA - its got some sort of split centre arm rest that can be adjusted individually as well as auto dipped headlight thing (not sure if that was an option or standard)?

The early cars had an annoying flat spot around 3k rpm, I think there was a software update for it.

Indeed...in fact its worth checking what software level you are on....The last ECU software update was included in the late summer 2012 update. This is absolutely worth having...its knocks a couple of tenths off the quarter mile (2008 compared to 2013).

30 mpg is easily achievable on motorway . I picked mine up from Leeds 3 weeks back , mixture of normal motorway driving and a fair bit of booting it as I had just got it I did 169 miles and it was 29.6 mpg average .

Nice looking car. I'm in the market for one at the minute but struggling to find what I want.

The armrest is an optional as is the adaptive headlights. You can get the full spec. if you put the last 7 of the VIN into this site: https://www.bmwvin.com/

Your wheels are CSL ones not Competition Pack 359M's, still look just as goos on the E92 though.

What are you looking for? A particular spec or price?

Used mine on the school run this morning (therefore driving very sensibly) and I was amazed to average 29mpg! All town miles too

I'm wanting a low miles Competition Pack, DCT in red or blue. There'll be one along in a month or two...

Hi Lord T,
I just PMed you in case you want to buy some original 220M satin black wheels (no tyres).
Also, one word of warning - do keep a little cash in reserve for any dreaded throttle actuator problems.
They come from nowhere, without warning and it's a little depressing to spend 10% of the price of the car for no return!
Oh, and if I had kept mine any longer I would 100% have gone for the "paul the welder" exhaust mod - the car is just too quiet in stock form.
Read all about that mod on m3cutters: http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=122...

Depends if you prefer hearing the delicious induction from the engine though, I had a miltek and then a very loud Tubi rumore on my e92s but missed the induction noise that the exhausts drown out so swapped back to stock.

Did you change the air filter ? Does this make any difference ?
