E36 M3 - sell or keep
Discussion
Hi folks,
A close friend has an E36 M3 and is thinking of selling. It's been maintained regardless of cost and he really knows his motors - has a Caterham 620R and about to take delivery of a 996 Turbo.
It's been garaged for the many years he's owned it and is has a private plate starting M53
143k miles

He's an old boy and not really in tune with the interwebs hence my asking for him.
I've been fortunate to borrow the car for a week and it's a great drive.
Question: he's not sure whether to keep for a few more years or sell. Decision based purely on financials as here in Brighton garages are expensive to rent / buy and the 996T needs a home. Essentially - will its value increase or time to let go?
Thank you.

As said, who knows but with a 146K miles on the clock, it’s never going to be super desirable to collectors.
Even if the car appreciates by £10K over the next 3 years (which would probably be good going – I reckon mine has increased by £3k max in the last 3 year, it has 117K on the clock), by the time you have deducted garaging, servicing, repairs and insurance, it probably doesn’t look like that much of an “investment”.
