Put the hood down! If you go fast enough, the rain passes straight over. As for oversteer; find a wet, greasy and deserted private carpark and floor the throttle on full lock.

This is true as I discovered on the M27 last night!

Not if it is really heavy though! I was caught out on the M27 once during a monsoon-like cloudburst and water was coming into the cabin regardless of what speed I did. Much to the amusement of other people on the motorway! hehe

I was on the M27 a while back and left Southampton in bright sun. The closer I got the Portsmouth, the darker the clouds got until I chickened out, drove up the slip road for junction 11, pulled over and put the roof on. So glad I did as the heavens opened. Not so good news for the women I passed in an Audi TT convertible who did not have her roof up. Never have I ever paid so much attention to clouds before.

I had this a few weeks ago on the M1, I was just laughing with all the rain getting my torso. Stopped at lights at the top of slip road and put the roof up faster than ever!

Hate to be a smug get but.... Never driven our MX5 with the roof UP! Okay, not had it sideways too often either (auto and brilliant tyres are what I blame - I'm not a woose)and apart from one little episode in the rain where driving at about 50 saw us dry, never been caught short either.

Oh it's good to be smug.....

Did I mention that since we've waxed (as well as polished) the car with hi def wax I haven't needed to wash it either, the rain we get has done the job for me.

The wet roundabouts thing is part of the reason I got it biggrin
My first car was an S13 and I got used to that suddenly coming on boost on wet corners so I should be ok.

Looks nice today, I think I'll pop the roof down for the drive to work.

Roof down to and from work. The zip keeps sticking putting it up, if I had a garage I would leave it down all the time.

Aha, that could be the problem.

Cheers.

I've decided that 7k rpm with the roof off is heaven.
Girlfriend has decided she needs a hat and scarf next time we have to roof off.

Another n00b issue, does the first half of the fuel gauge go down slower than the second half?

Daily driver? Respect if so! I'm roof down for most long journeys, don't normally bother for going to the shops or work. Over winter rarely get it down, by the time it's warm enought to put down am often at my destination!
