Cannot start mx5!

Hi all...

Bit of an emergency. I turned the steering wheel without the keys in the ignition, and it locked. Now when i go to start the car, i cannot turn they key! How do i solve this!? I assume it is the immobiliser...

Jiggle the wheel a bit until the key turns

Every car I've had has done that from time to time (except the Saab with a reverse lock out rather than a steering lock).

In the days before mobiles I did it with my mum's Peugeot 205 and had to go back into the house of somebody I was visiting to ring my dad and ask what to do!
