Chaps

Some advice required, if that's OK...

I bought my 1990 Eunos about 9 months ago with the plan to turn it into a track / sprinting / potential race car. This year I've done suspension, brakes, and a few other bits and bobs as well as a trip to the Nurburgring and several trackdays. All good so far!

I would like to release a few extra gees-gees if possible. The constraining factor is that, if I want to race in the CSCC Future Classics series (which is my current plan, 'cos it allows dual drivers), then induction must be kept standard so FI is out of the question.

I realise that I'm not going to make a massive difference without FI, but I would like to get it to its maximum potential without spending a fortune.

So, I was thinking of following the path of the Ma5da Racing boys - going for a Blink Motorsport headskim & port fettling along with an AFM upgrade which should work out somewhere in the region of £750. I'm sure I read somewhere that the racing Mazdas are up arond 130bhp somewhere??

SO my question is - what do you reckon chaps? Does this sound like a sensible option for the money? Is there anything else I should be thinking of.

Many thanks for the advice.

I know you can get stroker kits for the 1.8 but not sure about the 1.6. They'll up the compression and take a 1.8 to 2.0 or 2.1l. Not cheap though.

Throttle bodies have been used too.

Not sure if extra capacity or changing to throttle bodies wold be against the series rules.

Decent exhaust system seems to make a difference:
