...and changing my mind 5000times, ive decided to find a dealer locally with a mk2.5 mx5 for me to have a look in tomorrow! I know i shouldnt waste their time but im excited and want to have have a proper look round one and maybe a drive if im feeling cheeky. Im not going to be buying one till feb but this is going to be the first time ive spent more than 1500quid on a car and spent more than a couple weeks deciding so i want to make sure ive made my mind up way before get the money, rather than getting the money and rushing into something! Im also going to have a good look around the typical rust spots as this is one thing thats worrying me and see if its as common as i fear! Hopefully if i get the right feeling from sitting in it tomorrow ill be writing about my very own 5 in a couple of months!

You're doing it the right way. Don't worry about misleading the dealer, most of them would have no problems misleading you wink
Get a test drive in a number of different cars as there is no guarantee that the first one you try is set up anywhere near right.

Thats what I did first. I went to a local dealer and tried one there, before deciding to go and view a private one that was 1hr30 away. Thought I better make sure I liked it before I went that far to view one. Just say that you have another one to look at later on if they get pushy.
