As title, Im trying to find a copy of an English 1998/1999 owners manual, can anyone help? Ive found a US Mk2.5 which is better than nothing, but Im not familiar with MX-5s and a proper UK manual would be far better.

Also, will a 1998 UK car have an integrated (in the key) immobiliser? I would presume that any post '97 EU car would, but both keys have extremely small heads and dont look like most coded keys do...

Any help appreciated.

Can't help you with a manual but here's the electronic parts catalog that Mazda dealers use. The site is russian but the catalog is in english. Covers all Mazda cars I believe.

99 Uk cars have a chip in they key which must match the car. When you start the car there's an orange light on the righ-ish of the clocks that shows they key has been 'read' correctly.

As Snotrag has said.. They do have an immobiliser chip in the key which has to be coded into the vehicle.

Also, is there anything specific you were trying to find in the handbook? Unfortunately I don't know where there are any online but do know abit about MX5s or can find it for you.

If its general maintenance stuff - get a hold of the 1.8 Mk1 manual by Rod Grainger.

It is 90% relevant, under the panels there pretty much the same car, and most differences can be worked round. For servicing, changing brake pads, most normal DIY type work its certainly going to all you need.

I've had both cars, so thats from experience too.
