Hi, my MK1(Eunos) seems to suffer with condensation in the boot. I don't think it's a leak because the floor of the boot is not wet but the underneath of the bootlid is damp with drops of water on it and underneath the inside of the wings the same. Anyone else had this or know if there's any way to stop it?
Thanks
Mark

Yep, on ours it was a leaking rain rail. Enough to let damp in, in front of the rear bulkhead, and even when it wasn't enough to soak the carpets, it was enough to cause a lot of condensation on the boot lid. The other potential causes suggested were leaks around the Frankenstein bolts for the hardtop, the aerial, and around the rear lights.

This happened to me, because the 'Frankenstein' bolts were missing. Are yours installed?

Are they the chrome ones that stick out the top? If so the are but they are there but loose and move about. I thought they were meant the be like that. I don't have a hardtop so I don't really know how it attaches.

That's the ones. They shouldn't be loose, and water can get in that way.

The lights are not leaking, but these Frankenstein bolts are seeming likely.

I suppose the question I'm really asking is is it usual to be damp or should I be looking for a leak?

Get the same problem with mine , fitted new roof last year and the rain rail was in very good condition so not sure if mine is leaking there , will check the frankenstien bolts after reading this topic though.

Well these are awkward little buggers. How do I get to the bottom of these Frankenstein bolts, from in the boot or in the cabin?

Ok done it.

Slight bit of damage frown caused by the mole grips even though I had tape on it they had to be fking tight as the nut underneath was corroded, but I have replaced with new

The drivers side was a squeeze, but not as bad as the passenger due to the petrol filler pipes.

Thank you guys/PH once again come up trumps. Just hope that the condensation stops now smile
