I'm a bit new to MX-5 but looking for something to replace my OHs ageing fiesta, and fancy something that will be both fun for her, and me. Our budget is ~3k but this looks interesting, but knowing little about MX-5s wondered if you lot knew anything about R.S LTD??

The RS Limited came with special seats which were often parted out. See http://www.dandycars.com/Frequently_Asked_Question...

So... it's hard to say how "RS Limited" that car is anymore.

3k should get you quite a good and virtually rust free MX-5 if you look hard enough. See the other thread on Mk 2.5 6 speed for some examples.

I had an RS Limited. The one in the above post is missing the original seats, but to be fair, its probably priced accordingly. Having said that, the car looks like a pretty tidy example, with some pretty nice mods, so would still be worth a look.

That said, I enjoy my UK spec 1.8 just as much as I did the RS Limited, so I wouldn't necessarily pay through the nose for an RS unless you REALLY want an RS, and if you REALLY want an RS, I'd want it to be pretty close to original, which this one just isn't.

I reckon if you can stretch to it, a Mk2.5 Sport 6-speed would be a nice buy.
