Is it necessary to waterproof the soft top on a Mk3. If so what is recommended - Fabsil?

If a fabric roof, can recomend the autoglym kit. It works a treat on my 2.5sport.

Just put the Autoglym stuff on my roof today, the protector is on and is drying in the garage. I have a MK2 roof on my Eunos but I think the previous owner never ever cleaned it and it was filthy! Hoping for good results.

Cheers guys
I would have thought the Renovo gear was more for refurbing. I was thinking more along the lines of general upkeep to keep it well protected. Wasn't sure if it was required or what would be best. I have been looking at the Autoglym kit
Thanks

Did you actually look on MX5parts at the product?

There's a 'reviver' which as you say refurbs the material - paints it black. and a 'Proofer' which re-waterproofs the softtop.

That's all you need the proofer.

I've used the Autoglym kit in the past and it's fine if a little expensive, and the waterprrofer gets used up much quicker than the cleaner.

Now I just use Fabsil as it's much cheaper.

I've used the Renovo refurb and proofer, both very good.

Depends if the top is fabric or vinyl? Guessing fabric on the mk3? Renovo do a cleaner and a protectant. You won't need the rejuvenator yet, well I hope not. There are loads of on-line retailers that sell it. About £20 for the cleaner and protectant.
