MX5 - 2012 Limited Editions?
Discussion
Anyone know if there will be any special editions coming out this year? It must almost be the end of the MK3 run this year?
Wife and I might be considering one to share when her Mazda 3 goes back. Would really like a white body, softtop with dark wheels, but that's not an option to spec just now.
I appreciate there is a white coupe available in the form of the "Black Edition", but I really don't want or need a coupe.. but I do love the white!
Also, anyone know if the Bose stereo in the Black Edition is the same or better than that which is standard in the 2.0 Sport??? I've seen a few reviews saying it's very good, but my wife's Mazda 3 Bose stereo is nothing more than average - Bose = Pose
Thanks in advance.

the Venture is the first special edition they are running for 2012, saw one in Twickenham Mazda the other day: http://www.mazda.co.uk/showroom/mx-5/MazdaMX-5_ven... come in hard or soft top, red, grey or white and with the sat nav.
The black edition is the mechanically and electricly the same as the Sport Tech, its just the trim and paint that different.
edit: to be honest I wouldn't bother with the special editions, the discounts you can get on the standard models make the specials incredibly expensive - I got my sport tech coupe for ~£5k less than list...

Thanks for the reply.
I did see this one on their site. Shame it doesn't have the Bose stereo, looks to have Sat Nav instead. Otherwise it would be perfect.
Agree on the prices though, standard one would make a lot more sense and hard to ignore. It would leave enough for a Cosworth supercharger
To be honest, it won't be for another year, hence why I was wondering what's coming out now, so I could pick up a 6 months old one at discount early next year.
How would you rate your Bose stereo?
Any idea when production stops on the MK3.5?

The bose is ok, its not amazing but much better than the stock system. I tend to use the aux in 90% of the time and play audio from my iPhone so never going to sound top notch.
The MK3 (NC) has been around since 2005 (with the revision in 2009), the MK2 (NB) ran for 7 years with a facelift after 2 years (1999-2001-2005). The MK1 (NA) ran 10 years 1989 till 1999
So we could be in for a revision any time from this year to 2015. There are rumours of a lighter and lower powered 'skyactive' version of the MX-5 this year to go alongside a new RX (more of a RX-7 spiritual succesor if the rumours are to be believed)
