New Owner/First car, recommended owners manuals?
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I've recently purchased my first car, being a MK2 1.8i S model, at the ripe old age of 26... I have a massive knowledge and love for the facts and figures of all cars but have never really had to do much mechanically, however it is something I have been looking to learn which is a big part of why I chose the MX5 in the first place. Now I appreciate that most questions are already answered online somewhere if you want to search for them and you have no idea how helpful you have all unintentionally been whilst I've been MX5 hunting the past few months, but I specifically want books, and not just recommendations on whats available, but recommendations from people that have actually owned, read and used them.
Again, I'd just like to thank you all from a Newbie owner, my experience so far from forum to ownership has been genuinely amazing!
Matt

I would say that Rod Grainger's book is just what you're looking for: http://www.veloce.co.uk/shop/products/productDetai...
It goes into a lot more explanation than your typical workshop guide, and would be great for someone starting out. Unfortunately it's not specific to the mk2, but I think it's still worth it. You can buy it from various online sources.

Yuo, Rod Grainger manual.
But the 1,8 Mk1 version and the vast majority of it still applies to the Mk2 (I've owned, and done a lot of work on, both types.)
Also this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mazda-Performance-Projects...
Is very good and starts with some really easy little jobs to do.

I'm in the process of looking for my first mk1 1.8 so I've ordered myself a copy of that book too, sounds exactly what I need. Thanks!
