Wear mark on mohair roof, how to repair?
Discussion
I noticed when I put up my roof earlier that it has a very light spot of rubbing which you can now see some daylight through, what's best to repair it with?
I've noticed the mark for a while (although I'm sure it's only very recently worn through), but I gather that's why for the last couple of days there has been a trickle of water down the inside of the window...

Is the wear point anything like this old thread from PlanetMX5?

Sounds similar Laz, can't be sure as the pics aren't working on that thread anymore. I did mean to put the roof down and see where it was rubbing, but it's raining now!
I did wonder whether I tyre patch might be fine, will wait to hear what Jonny has to say.
The pictures are working for me! On that thread the tyre patch is being used to cushion the bar that is causing the wear, not to patch a hole in the hood.I did wonder whether I tyre patch might be fine, will wait to hear what Jonny has to say.

I had thought something like this might be pretty good?

Cheers Jonny, I'll have a look into that.
Laz, maybe the images are cached for you then?
It isn't a hole in my hood, it's just worn enough that you can just about see daylight through it. I've just checked it and it doesn't appear to be letting any water in either, no idea how it managed to get in the other day!

Didn't realise the thread was that old.
