I know I probably shouldn't sound so surprised, but we've only had the car a week and what a perfect weekend to test her. Now I've owned various sports cars all my driving life and I'm really happy to report that our Mk3 2.0 Sport Tech deserves recognition for its nibbleness and sporty feel. 160 miles of Yorkshire's finest and most challenging dales roads yesterday and what a pleasure it was too. Handling characteristics are sure and planted, acceleration is good and it makes a pleasant change not to have to crawl over every speedbump, as I find myself doing in the other car. I've never really seen a road going MX-5 going at full chat, or even showing impressive overtaking manouvers in the past. After yesterday afternoon though, I'm sure there will be a few drivers with a new found respect for the capabilities of this little car. Great fun and my hat is suitably doffed off.

After work last night (past midnight) I decided to lower the roof and blast home. It was a perfect drive, the stars above me, exhaust rasping away, all traffic lights on my side and my favorite music on. I think the car feels different when the roof is down, and despite the dodgy diff of mine and juddering clutch I came home from work with a smile on my face for once.

Mines currently in the garage getting a type 1 torsen fitted to replace the not so 'super' fuji one. Popped in today and was shown the glittery oil and was given 2 tabs which had sheared off. A well documented problem with the fuji diff. Cant wait to get back in it
