Hi guys,

I have just come back from a 4 hour jaunt to buttertubs pass in the yorkshire dales - thought I would treat the 5 to a nice spirited drive!

The road is incredible - has anyone else driven their 5 there recently? Nice photo of the 5 below at the beginning of the road!

The rain doesn't hit you when you're travelling above 20mph, I promise! biggrin

I'm doing the Buttertubs pass in August. Going to the Lake District and discovered that Buttertubs can be on the way. Might have to pretend to be lost a couple of times en route!

I live about 25 minutes away, Mk3 time and try to do it at least 4 or 5 time a year. I've got to say I much prefer the run from the Reeth side towards Hawes than the other direction !

Great road, although every time I've been so far it's been pissing it down - not exactly confidence inspiring conditions!

Yeah we took the other half's MK2 for a good hoon around there a week or so ago. It was superb! Though we didn't do that pass tbh, there are plenty more stunning roads around that area to enjoy too.

Stunning - "did" the Dales a couple of summers ago in my '5. Although it's not the best road in the Dales for driving IMHO, it takes quite some beating for the scenery...

I have driven it, in my works Transit van. frown

I'd love to drive there in my Eunos but it's a long way away.

Noticed this was only 30 miles or so from where I was working this week, so went for a bit of a hoon. It is a fun road, quite short, narrow and twisty. I enjoyed some of the A roads more though, especially the A684 Hawes - Aysgarth which was deserted that evening. Really liked Yorkshire, would love to take the MX5 up there sometime.
