Are there any Eunos insurance specialists I can try to better my insurance renewal with?
Currently with Flux and renewal is £436, was about £360 before,

I'm being a stingey cow as we were paying £299 for the Elise worth 7k and the eunos is only worth £1300 or whatever yet paying loads more, guessing it's because it's an import, we are also selling it soon so didn't want a huge chunk of money to just be wasted if we don't sell within the 6 months to get a refund on the insurance

Tried a place called Sky & 2gether both specialists, just wondered if there was anyone else out there I could try before I go with the 436 quote?

Cheers

If garaged and limited mileage, try classic insurance? Footman James were best for me.

Thanks, not garaged or limited mileage enough frown will be doing about 7-8k a year, other insurers seem to like you doing 5k or less, will try them tomorrow though, I tried earlier but they were closed already

Mine is with Competition Car Insurance tel: 0844 892 1966 - best deal I could find last year after contacting about 8 other "specialist" insurers.
Really p*sses me off having to pay much more for the Eunos than my Se7en which is worth more, higher power to weight and higher agreed mileage - seems there's no rhyme or reason.
HTH.

When I was looking at another MX5 as a second car, the RAC came up trumps for me, would insure an S-Limited with nil NCB for £350 for the year.

Try Lancaster insurance. Mine isn't garaged and limited mileage of 6k per year. £218 for this year and that's with an SS postcode.

Sureterm could be worth a call.My Eunos with declared mods is on a 6k a year classic policy and is around £140.

hehe It's not going very well, I'm getting quotations upwards of £500
Appears that it doesn't meet classic car insurance criteria but they have not said why, just thought I'd get dead cheap insurance by now being nearly 40 with 12 NCB, no fault accidents etc.
I wouldn't mind paying the money if we were keeping the eunos for a year but when we sold the Elise we were 6 months and 2 weeks into the paid up front policy and they wanted me to pay more to cancel it

Another vote for CCI. And I couldn't agree more with the frustration comments!

Aviva were cheapest for me and the missus. They didn't even charge any extra when we had to change the policy after finding out ours had been lowered. clap

It's probably worth calling A Plan's Milton Keynes office on 01908 271 771 as they specialise in MX5s.

I managed to get down to £353 (Flux) with renewal early next week, thats declaring mods, garaged with 5k miles, think it's the mods and import putting it up above what a classic car policy usually is judging by some of the low prices on this thread

still trying the others but I seem to be working late every day this week so don't get home in time to call round
A Plan came out good last year so they will be next on the hitlist

I can't really add anything to the comments above assuming you've tried the popular comparison sites and attempted to haggle with the lowest quotes.

I found the Eunos relatively expensive to insure considering it was virtually worthless but cost more to insure than a Lexus LS400, which is in Group 20 I believe.
