Does anyone have any experience of Calibre wheels on their MX5 (or other car), specifically the Pro7 variety?

Would love to see some pics...

Edit: This is for a mk1 Eunos, to be specific.

Funny you should ask that, I was looking at these as they are supposedly a very light rim.

Have you found weight figures? I was looking at Rota RB's which according to the info I have weigh about 6.5kg each. They are a fair bit more expensive though.

Strong
Light
Cheap

You can only have two of the above at once.

I'm sure I stole that from someone on here, but I've never forgotten it!

Sounds a lot like like the FI argument:
Powerful
Reliable
Cheap

Choose only 2.

My 15" Rota Circuit 10 were around £340 when I bought them a few years ago and are around 5.1Kg so cheap & light can be found.

Strong is a matter for debate. Rota get a lot of stick on the interweb but I've never seen any real evidence that they are any weaker than any others. The pictures you see of the web are usually very biased and they don't tell you the whole story i.e. why the wheels failed, what they were on and what they were doing at the time.

Personally I'd go with something like Team Dynamics Pro-Race 1.2 wheels, made in the UK, correct PCD drilled (not dual drilled like the calibre wheels) and proper motorsport heritage/quality.

Nowt wrong with the Calibre wheels in fairness but I do dislike dual drilled PCDs.

I used to work in the alloy wheel industry if that makes any difference.

Not really as you only gave a personal opinion rather than blinding us with alloy wheel science wink
