Looking at various independent dealer sites in England and I would like some feedback from any Ph who might have experience of them

Goodwood Cars Berwick on Tweed
Dandycars London

Are there any others ?

I am in NI and looking for a Mk1.

Very few in NI, hence the question.

Budget. 1.5/2 k

Thanks

Dandy Cars were great when they were importing, now the prices seem high for cars that have been in the UK for a while. Seem to have a lot of auto which seem to sell for more. good wood cars have a very good rep, a one man band the last time I was looking around, sources some nice cars.
Supercar Classics not far from Liverpool would be more convenient for you, they used to import a lot of MK1s but not much now with the exchange rate and the relative low value of the cars. But they do seem to resell a lot of the cars from their previous customers so lots of nice ones

Thanks Typhoons.

I have contacted SuperClassics and they have a couple of cars which may suit.

I 'm sure Steve from Goodwood is a sound guy but Liverpool is much more convenient and they seem to
be genuine guys.

Hope to go over to view/buy soon.

Thanks

Why not buy privately ? Look on here and on MX5Nutz forum for some good cars. If there not rusty probably not too much else to worry about.

Hi Simon
I am in Ni and it's a pain to go over and view cars which are not as described.
With someone like Supercar Classics I can view 3/4 accurately described cars in one trip.
Also 12 month warranty and good reputation are a big plus.

Surprised you can't find one in NI. Try the club mx5ni.com and see if they know of anyone selling.

Thanks Brian

I have phoned Steve on 3 occasions and sent him an e mail.

Result no replies.

I am disappointed.

I want to buy a car from him but I'm now having some doubts.

I can't understand why someone in the business of selling cars doesn't bother to return
phone calls.

Steve phoned me and he seems a genuine bloke who certainly knows his MX 5's

Can anyone comment on Supercar Classics in Cheshire?.

They are a lot closer to me and their stock looks good in photos.

Anybody bought from them?.

I 'm trying to get as much info before buying.

Thanks
Steady

I bought my Mk1 from Superclassics. Must be one of the very few Mk1 imported last year. I bought a second one of a chap who bought his off SCC as well. All the cars they were selling seemed sound. There pricing reflects condition, £2000 gets a very good one and £2500 seems to be as mint as you can expect to find.

Buy the car, not the dealer.
