some of you may know about this already

Mazda On Track are trying to organise an mx5 only day at croft - 30 cars max.

its an 88db sessioned day

last time we did this we were so well behaved it ended up an open pit lane day as we all kept the noise down and did not cause any bother

They are also doing it in conjunction with Mission Motorsport - helping get our broken service men and women out on track as passengers - all part of helping rehabilitate our service people

link to the day is here if you want to join and have fun

http://www.mazdaontrack.co.uk/croft-trackday---fri...

they need 20 cars signed up for the day to run.

hope you can join us

Regards

chris

Whoops I appear to have got drunk last night and have booked a space on thismazda at croft circuit. I think on the 19th Oct I will probably go through the pearly in a ball of flames.

Now i need to source a couple of helmets.

Anyone got any tips bearing in mind i am a total beginner

I hope i will be ok in a std mk1 eunos!

There will be helmets for hire on the day, Mazda on track are very well organised.

You will be fine in a standard mx5, it's a sessioned day so you will be able to go out with the novice session, plus there should be some max5 guys there to help with instruction,

Croft is a fab track, technical in places plus there are a couple of places to really test your nerve when you are ready.

Jim Clarke Esses is my favourite.

Should be a good day, just hope I can get cover at work.

Err it's Jim Clark thank you;and some advice for any Croft first timers- the entry to the second corner looks like a chicane- it isn't . Treat it as the right hander it is and don't jink left on entry as many first timers do. Instead , stay left after Clervaux and then turn in to long RH bend- Hawthorn. The real chicane follows. If it rains stay off the kerbing and remember that the apices of Tower and Clervaux become lakes in heavy rain- avoid !
