It is official I am now a real 'Pistonheader' bought this MKI Eunos Roadster 1.6 V Spec last night from a friend of the family. It needs a good clean but it is in excellent condition throughout. I will put some proper pictures up this weekend once I have spent some time with it.

The car has done 69k and has a full MOT and some tax. The underside was undersealed last year but has no visible signs of rust anywhere. Brand new roof and rear window too.

I have to say I was extremely surprised at how well equipped it is. It has heated seats, aircon, electric windows, leather and a wooden wheel. Great car all in all.

I don't like the wheels as they are on the wrong offset and it also has a rather large exhaust pipe which I personally think needs to go.

First on the list of things to do though will be to stick on a smiley and give it a good polish.

It was a bargain too - shed money!

Thanks for the help with purchasing, I shall likely make regular appearances on the forum once again.

Daz

It is still extremely wet and dull but here are some new pictures:

Spent the evening driving around and showing it off to mates. It is brilliant fun I can see why they are so loved on PH now! Exhaust is large and noisy but actually it is growing on me.

My dad's got one with a standard exhaust and would probably like it to be louder... If you decide yours is too loud and want to swap the systems over it could be a win-win, just give me a shout. smile

Those wheels are a perfect offset IMO! Nice and chunky! Exhaust is nice too.

I just found out the wheels are BBS and most likely the originals. Needless to say I won't be changing them.

I was going to say keep them after seeing the picture - BBS are not my favourite style, I think they only suit certain cars - many owners think they can bolt them onto anything - but those definitely suit the mk1 for that retro look yes

Top stuff.

Those wheels might be BMW jobbys. Look good though, MX5s really suit a wheel with a lip.

Looks like a nice example.

And yes they look like the BMW BBS alloys - 15 x 7 et24 i think rather than the mx5 BBS et30 or 40 something offset.

I hated the wheels when I first saw the car but they are growing on me slowly but surely. I particularly like how the front sits, sorry this is a terrible picture and the car is extremely dirty. I shall take some better pictures over the weekend.

I can't seem to find what wheel this is exactly and also I think it may have been diamond cut at some point in it's later life. Centre caps are missing too either stolen or had BMW badges on I guess.

Are the heated seats original? I fancy heated seats in mine and am looking at after market kits, but if I could just swap the seats that would be even better.

Actually it doesn't have heated seats the Seller was mistaken about that but I have seen them on MX5 parts and I am contemplating doing it when I change the speakers.

Welcome thumbup

Its the same year and colour as mine and a V-Spec also, you have a rear spoiler that I don't (for that all important additional downforce) and the full front numberplate - I have the vinyl stick-on plate and it looks better IMO!

Do you have the original thin rimmed wood and metal Nardi steering wheel then, it's a wonderful thing isn't it biggrin

I hate the front plate it is awful and has to go. But I do have the original wheel in mint cond and you are right it is a wonderful thing to hold.

I'm another one with a V-Special mines got a loud exhaust too!
The wooden wheel and Tan interior are what attracted me to this model.
mines got the 14" daisy wheels.
on the whole its a fab car for the money.

Managed to get a drive in the dry today and even get the roof down. What a brilliant car. I can see why it is the answer to everything!
