It seems the boot on mine appears to be a bit moist...........

Is it a simple as changing the seal or can it get in from somewhere else? in the meantime can I just get the old vaseline out as a tempory fix (it doesn't feel brittle or look obviosly out of shape)

Possibly blocked drain holes ?
Or possibly I'm talking rubbish?

Pretty sure that the damp in our Eunos is condensation. Still gets pretty wet though!

The hood drain holes are clear and I can't see any around the boot itself, I assume water just flows out at the back. it 'could' just be condensation forming but I just want to make sure.

I had a damp boot, my Frankenstein bolts were loose. Tightened them up and problem solved. Worth a look for an easy fix.

Most common cause is blocked drain tubes. After that its rear light cluster seals, Frankenstein bolt seals and cracked rain-rain. No MX5 should suffer condensation. If its there you have a water leak.

I had water in my boot, it used to collect in the recess where the jack sits just inside the nearside wing. Thought initially that the fuel filler was leaking somehow, but after some investigation, it turned out to be a thoroughly shot rain rail.
