My fuel flap has always been a tad stubborn in the winter, always assumed it was frozen or whatnot. However lately it's been mild weather and the flap sometimes just won't budge and refuses to open.

Which as you can imagine is somewhat embarrassing at petrol stations.

I'm guessing the cable has stretched. Is there an easy way of tightening it back up, or is a new cable required? I'm not technically minded so tempted to let somewhere like Autolink have a look when I go for MOT/service next month.

Thanks smile

If you pull the release while someone gently prises the flap it may open. Then just regularly spray some WD40 on the hinge and the locking mechanism. At least this works on the aftermarket chrome flap fitted on our Mk2
