Help !! Make 1 one head light not retracting
Discussion
This morning, both headlights elevated as normal on turning the headlight switch
10 minutes later ,I turned the switch off , and only one headlight retracted. The drivers side headlight remained in the elevated position
I tried the switch several times to no good effect
I turned the engine off , and again the drivers side light remained elevated
Later I turned the engine off , and the headlight has now retracted , But , the lamp cover is still slightly (about 2cm) raised above the level of the bonnet
My thoughts.
? Relay
.motor
.lubrication of mechanism needed
.fuse
Turning the central dash button for permanently raising/lowering the headlight made no difference
Thank youforyour help

Strike me as a good starting point. I would assume the motor is the most likely given the wet weather we have had. I wouled test the connectios with a meter or bulb just to see if power is getting there. If it is its not the fuse etc. Good Luck
Have a look at the link arm connecting the motor to the headlamp, it may have just come loose & need the bolts tightening up. This happened to Me, although it was the opposite...one headlight suddenly dropped down, when I switched the lights off, that one popped up & stayed up. It was simply the bolts in the link arm had worked loose. If it is that you will have to reposition the link arm before you tighten them up, but its simple & straightforward to work out how to do that if that is the problem. Good luck.
