Hi
I've recently bought an MX5 and it needs the camber done, and while I'm there the water pump.

Is this easy to do for someone with basic-ISG knowledge?

Or does anyone have any recommendations for a garage to do the work?

I'm based in the Hertford area so the closer the better.

Cheers

I'll say, but that most describes the type of people that buy them.

if you're doing it all, it's a days job. that's camshaft, tensioners and runners, water pump, camshaft and crankshaft oil seals, cas o-ring, cam cover gasket, coolant drain, flush and refill, power steering belt and altenator belt. the hardest bit is probably undoing the main crankshaft nut or keeping the camshafts still whilst you undo / do up the nut/bolt (can't remember what it is).

looking at a £2-300 probably labour by a garage. depends if you trust your skill and care more than theirs.

Any have have decent garage will be able to do it, the MX5 is straightforward to work on and it's real bread and butter stuff. It might be worth buying your own waterpump so they don't use some cheap chinese part, as genuine Mazda pumps barely cost any more. Or as said, if it's a 2nd car and you can manage without it if you balls it up and have to get some help in you could do it yourself and save a couple of hundred. It's a great car to learn on and there are lots of guides out there. I'd always rather spend money on tools to do a job than the labor for the job, as you'll have the tools forever.
