I'm guess it was meant to point to the £500 mx5 thread?

As the OP of the thread referenced, can I ask what's wrong? The way I see it is I'm temporarily saving a CAT C car, one which so easily could have been binned by now. Even once it slowly rusts I will be extending the life of the heart of the car by fulfilling a dream and building a kit car.

I've never touched bodywork before and yes I've made a terrible mess of my first attempt. The thread doesn't pretend to be anything it's not, now it's passed an MOT and if it passes the identity check, I will be having another go to make it look smarter.

Sorry of it puts anyone's nose out to see me not treating an old cheap car like a garage queen, but for economising on fixing parts of a car that will eventually see the scrap yard.

I promise, if anything needs replacing that will end up on the kit, no expense shall be spared. I have my eye on 4 new tyres and a refurb of the alloys, since those bits will be retained.

Sorry for the mini rant, and to those who see the car and me for what they are, thanks. smile

Thanks. I fully intend to enjoy driving it. Itching to get out and grab some top down motoring. VIC is booked for April 20th and then I assume I have to wait until the v5 comes through to tax it. So sadly it's off the road until then.

As soon as its done, it's 4 new tyres and an hour on a hunter machine. smile
