Does the mk3.5 use a normal battery or a gel type like the earlier models?

Mine was flat this morning - hadn't driven it since Sunday. When I went to the car this morning I noticed that the boot was popped up, could this be due to the flat battery (I'm not sure why the boot would open, battery is in the front) or the cause with the boot light staying on? When I got home on Sunday the key went in my desk drawer and only came out this morning, so unless my girlfriend opened the boot with her keys, I can't see how the boot button could have been accidentally pressed.

As the car is still in the Mazda warranty (with breakdown cover) I'm not sure if I should call them and get them to sort it, or just put the battery on charge and see if that fixes it.

In case anyone searches and finds this.

Mk3.5 has a normal battery, I charged it for 2.5 hours, then car started fine. I had lost trip computer details, radio presets and time, I also had the DSC light left illuminated, to get rid of this turn the steering to right lock, then left lock then turn the ignition off and on again.
