Might post similar in the kit cars thread.

My MX5 is due for MOT and the sills are looking pretty scabby. I'm wavering over whether it's worth getting them repaired or going the whole hog and taking the sublime mechanicals out and reinstalling them in a nice shiney kit car body.

I'd appreciate any tips or experiences on what's out there. A Westfield is tempting, the Exocet doesn't appeal to me on looks but the MEV Replicar had me drooling.

Best bet is to go to Stoneleigh kit car show next month, it's the biggest show of the year and has a lot of new cars debuting for the first time including the mevreplicar, there is a huge amount of mx5 based kits so there is something for everyone.

Im building an exocet at the moment and the replica is exactly the same underneath and is an easy kit to build, everything is used from the mx5 apart from the body so in the scheme of things an easy and cheap kit to build. Stuart mills is one of the most prolific designer in the kit car industry creating 26 different kits since 2006 with some 11-12 still being made, the forum has a huge depth of knowledge and a very friendly place if your stuck someone will know how to overcome it.
